Each year my hometown, Princeton, KY, hosts a cookie walk benefiting our Free Clinic. Various churches other organizations set up tables filled with donated cookies. Members of the community enter the event with a box (or ten) and plastic gloves to choose as many cookies as they can stand. They are sold for $5 a pound, which is all donated.
The place was crawling with people when my father and I arrived. He made his rounds visiting with volunteers (he volunteers pharmacy services for the clinic) and I went crazy over the cookies. Here are a few we chose. I forgot to photograph the rest because I was too busy eating them!
It’s a great event for a wonderful cause. Does your hometown do any special events around the holidays?
