Summer Recap

Guys.  I’ve been lazy. Lazy, but also busy with the craziness of a summer semester. I’ve put crafting on hold for Revenge, Criminal Minds, Scandal, and Doctor Who and am now back in the land outside of TV (maybe!). Summer was still pretty awesome if you ignore the whole 12 hour school day part. Here’s a photo recap of the greatness.

Beale Street Music Festival

About a month ago in the midst of finals a couple friends and I attended to Friday night concert of the Beale Street Music Festival. To say it was awesome was an understatement. We’re already planning to pre-study and attend the entire weekend next year.

Friday Confession #11

Guys! I must confess I’ve become obsessed with yoga! One of my goals for 2014 is to increase flexibility. So, I’m doing gentle yoga in the mornings to help with muscle soreness -from stress and sleeping like a pretzel- and hopefully adding another practice soon in the afternoon. Yoga by Candace has some great gentle yoga videos I really enjoy. Anyone else try yoga?

My Class

Today we celebrated the 3rd year audiology students with the first annual Golden Lobe awards show and breakfast. While it was awesome and we worked really hard to make it so, I am stoked to show off our fancy first-year photo because we take so few as a class. Yes, my class is a class of four. Here we are!

Avocado “Cream” Sauce

I am a lazy cook. I have neither the time (a huge lie) or the patience to spend time in the kitchen. An overripe avocado and a variety of pins -plus my new mini chopper/food processor inspired this creamy avocado sauce.

I eyeball everything so I can tell you the ingredients but not so much the amounts.

I used: 1 way ripe avocado, garlic, salt, olive oil…and that’s it.

avo

Swirl it in the food processor.

avo2

Add it to cooked pasta.

avo3

I added Parmesan cheese, the best tomatoes and viola!

P.S. Avocado doesn’t keep well so don’t attempt to reheat if you make it and have leftovers. I kept out some of the sauce and left the avocado pit in the container and it worked fairly well but it still wasn’t as good as the day prior. And not as green.
